Is Vancouver Churchill College accredited?
Yes. Vancouver Churchill College is registered with the Private Training Institutions Regulatory Unit (PTIRU), part of BC’s Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Training. We are also a member of the National Association of Career Colleges (NACC) and the BC Career Colleges Association (BCCCA).

Admissions
What are the general admission requirements?
Requirements vary by program, but most programs require a high school diploma (Grade 12 or equivalent) or mature student status (age 19+), and English proficiency at a Grade 10 level or higher (IELTS 5.0–5.5 depending on the program).
Can I apply if I didn’t finish high school?
Yes. Many of our programs accept mature students aged 19 or older who can demonstrate sufficient life or work experience. Contact our admissions team to discuss your situation.

Is there an application fee?
Yes. The application fee is $250 for domestic students and $300 for international students for diploma programs. Please confirm with our admissions team for certificate programs.
Programs & Courses
What programs do you offer?
We offer programs in four areas:
- Healthcare: Home Support Worker Training; Caregiver Training; Support Worker (Caregiver) Foundations
- Education & Social Services: Child Health, Safety & Nutrition; Child Growth & Development; Child Guidance
- Business: Business Administration Diploma; Hospitality Management Diploma
- Languages: English as a Second Language (6 levels); ESL IELTS Test Prep; Healthcare English – Medical Terminology
How long are the programs?
Program length varies. Short certificate courses can be as brief as 4 weeks. The Home Support Worker Training and Caregiver Training certificates are 26 weeks full-time (520 hours). Diploma programs are 48 weeks full-time.
Do you offer online or distance learning?
Yes. Most programs are available in-class, online (distance), or blended. Check individual program pages for available delivery options.
What is the class size?
We maintain small class sizes to ensure every student receives personalized attention and direct access to instructors.
ESL Programs
What ESL levels do you offer?
Our ESL program has six progressive levels: Elementary, Pre-Intermediate, Intermediate, Upper Intermediate, IELTS 5–6 Prep, and IELTS 6+ Prep. Each level is 120 hours. A placement test determines your starting level.
How long does it take to complete the ESL program?
Each level takes approximately 12 weeks. The full program from Elementary to IELTS 6+ is up to 36 weeks (9 months), depending on your starting level.
Can I take ESL before enrolling in another program?
Yes. Our ESL program is a great foundation before entering career programs. Our Healthcare English – Medical Terminology course is also specifically designed for students entering the healthcare field.
Healthcare Programs
How do I become a home support worker in BC?
Our PTIRU-approved Home Support Worker Training certificate is 520 hours (26 weeks full-time). It covers home care for elderly and vulnerable adults, the Canadian healthcare system, and professional communication. Tuition: $3,950. StudentAid BC eligible. Available in-class, online, or blended.
How do I become a caregiver for children in BC?
Our PTIRU-approved Caregiver Training certificate is 520 hours (26 weeks full-time), focused on child care (NOC 4411). Tuition: $3,950. StudentAid BC eligible. Available in-class or blended.
Do I need healthcare experience to enroll?
No prior healthcare experience is required. A high school diploma or equivalent and English proficiency at Grade 10 level (IELTS 5.0+) are the main requirements.
Business Programs
What is the difference between the Business Administration Diploma and the Hospitality Management Diploma?
Both are 960-hour diploma programs (48 weeks full-time) with a tuition of $15,000 CAD. Business Administration prepares students for careers in accounting, marketing, and office management. The Hospitality Management Diploma is developed in partnership with the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI) — graduates receive credentials from both VCC and AHLEI, recognized internationally in the hospitality industry.
Fees & Financial Aid
How much does tuition cost?
Tuition varies by program. The Home Support Worker Training and Caregiver Training certificates are $3,950. Diploma programs (Business Administration, Hospitality Management) are $15,000. Contact us for details on other programs.
Can I get a student loan or financial aid?
Yes. Vancouver Churchill College is designated by StudentAid BC (SABC), meaning eligible BC residents can apply for government grants, loans, and bursaries. Visit studentaidbc.ca or contact our office for guidance.
