The Home Support Worker Training program is a government-approved certificate program that prepares you for a rewarding career supporting elderly and vulnerable adults in their homes and communities across British Columbia.
This program is approved by the Private Training Institutions Regulatory Unit (PTIRU), BC’s Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Training — and eligible for StudentAid BC financial assistance.

Home Support Workers play a critical role in providing care and support for elderly and vulnerable adults in home and community settings. They work alongside healthcare professionals and community agencies to deliver compassionate, professional care.
This program offers foundational knowledge and skills in personal care assistance, safety and infection control, client communication, and navigating BC’s healthcare and community support system.
Learning Outcomes
At the end of this program, graduates will have developed the necessary knowledge and skills to work as a Home Support Worker:

- High school graduation (Grade 12) or equivalent — or mature student status (age 19 or older)
